From Farm to Export: The Journey of Dried Managu

AgroDakk Foods
Dried managu (African nightshade) is one of the most popular products in AgroDakk's catalog — and for good reason. This leafy green vegetable is packed with iron, calcium, and vitamins A and C. But how does it get from a small farm in Kitale to a dinner plate in Berlin or Dubai?
The journey begins with our partner farmers, who grow managu using traditional methods enhanced with modern sustainable practices. The leaves are harvested by hand at peak ripeness — typically early in the morning when nutrient content is highest.
Within hours of harvesting, the managu arrives at our processing facility in Kitale. Here, it undergoes thorough washing, sorting, and quality inspection. Only the best leaves make the cut.
The drying process is crucial. We use natural sun-drying methods that preserve the vegetable's nutritional profile while extending its shelf life to over 12 months. After drying, the product is tested for quality, packaged in food-grade materials, and prepared for shipment.
